- Glue stick
- Child-safe scissors (optional)
🪄 How to Do This Activity (Step-by-Step)
1. Print Your Portrait Template
Start by printing a simple face outline. I found mine on Canva, which made this step really easy.
Tip: Choose a minimal design so your toddler can focus on decorating.

2. Color the Face
Let your toddler color the face however they like—skin, lips, eyes, everything!
Don’t worry about staying in the lines. This is all about creativity.
3. Color the Flowers
Give your child several flower shapes to color.
Encourage:
- Mixing colors
- Using bright shades
- Scribbling freely

4. Cut the Flowers
For younger toddlers, you can pre-cut the flowers.
If your child is ready, let them practice cutting with safety scissors.
5. Glue the Flower Crown
Apply glue to the top of the head and let your toddler place the flowers.
They can:
- Overlap them
- Mix sizes
- Arrange them however they like
6. Add Layers for a 3D Look
Encourage your child to stack flowers on top of each other.
This creates a fun, textured “flower crown” effect that really stands out.
7. Let It Dry & Display
Once finished, let it dry and display it proudly!
You can also add a name or date to turn it into a keepsake.
