A Family Tradition That Started Seven Years Ago ❤️
Seven years ago, my husband sat down with our oldest son and drew a simple little lady on a piece of paper. Then they headed outside to collect colorful autumn leaves, and my son carefully arranged them to create her beautiful leafy hair.

At the time, we were simply enjoying an afternoon together. None of us imagined that years later I’d still have this artwork tucked away, bringing back so many wonderful memories.
Today, life looks a little different. My oldest son has grown up, and now our toddler is discovering the same joy of creating with leaves. Every autumn, we head outside together, collect colorful treasures from nature, and turn them into simple crafts that fill our home with laughter—and our refrigerator with artwork!
Looking back at that first leaf craft reminded me that some of the best family traditions don’t require expensive supplies or elaborate plans. Sometimes all you need is a handful of fallen leaves, a little imagination, and time spent together.
In this post, I’m sharing four of our favorite leaf crafts that have become part of our autumn tradition. They’re easy to set up, fun for toddlers and preschoolers, and perfect for creating memories your family might treasure for years to come.
